Sonic Origins Plus Brings Game Gear Classics to Modern Consoles

Sega has announced the upcoming release of Sonic Origins Plus, a collection of classic Game Gear titles featuring everyone’s favorite hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog. This new game bundle will bring some of the most beloved Sonic games from the past to modern consoles.

Sonic Origins Plus will include three classic Game Gear titles: Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble, Sonic Drift 2, and Tails’ Skypatrol. All three games will feature upgraded visuals, improved performance, and additional content. Sonic Triple Trouble will feature a Time Attack mode and a special “Tag” mode that allows two players to compete against each other. Sonic Drift 2 will feature four-player support, as well as additional tracks and characters. Finally, Tails’ Skypatrol will feature a brand new Time Attack mode and support for up to four players. 

The games will also feature enhanced soundtracks and remastered versions of the original songs. Additionally, the games will be compatible with modern controllers and will include achievements and leaderboards.

Sonic Origins Plus will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this summer. The game bundle will be priced at $40 USD.
