Mena Sato Kato, previously a Vice President at Sony and now serving as the Director of Partnerships for Japan at Xbox, underscored the importance of Japanese publishers collaborating with the Xbox team for business growth.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Kato emphasized, "For Japanese publishers looking to expand their business, partnering with us is essential. Relying solely on the PlayStation platform would make such expansion challenging."

Xbox has been cultivating a stronger presence in Japan, and the Xbox Series consoles have made notable headway, even surpassing PS5 sales at times. Nonetheless, it remains apparent that the Japanese gaming market is predominantly influenced by Sony and Nintendo.
